各位员工：

相信你们都看到了我上周向苹果社区披露个人情况的信件。很不幸的是，外界对我健康的好奇不仅对我本人与家人造成困扰，也让苹果其他员工连带受影响。此外，过去一周，我发现我的健康问题比原先想像还严重。

为了专心在自己的健康远离镁光灯，并让苹果恢复宁静继续专注在产品开发上，我决定请病假至6月底。

我已经要求蒂姆·库克（Tim Cook）负责公司日常运营，我相信他和管理团队其他成员能够出色地处理公司业务。作为CEO，在休假期间我将仍然参与公司重大战略决策。这一计划已经得到了董事会的全力支持。

I am sure all of you saw my letter last week sharing something very personal with the Apple community. Unfortunately, the curiosity over my personal health continues to be a distraction not only for me and my family, but everyone else at Apple as well. In addition, during the past week I have learned that my health-related issues are more complex than I originally thought.

In order to take myself out of the limelight and focus on my health, and to allow everyone at Apple to focus on delivering extraordinary products, I have decided to take a medical leave of absence until the end of June.

I have asked Tim Cook to be responsible for Apple's day to day operations, and I know he and the rest of the executive management team will do a great job. As CEO, I plan to remain involved in major strategic decisions while I am out. Our board of directors fully supports this plan.

I look forward to seeing all of you this summer.
